Are you coming to the Smoky Mountains without your motorcycle? We can help you with that! This is the riding Mecca of the South. Test your riding skills on the Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap, The Rattler, Moonshiner 28, and The Blue Ridge Parkway plus more great roads within a short riding distance of our location.

Other great destinations include Harrah's Cherokee Casino, Wheels Through Time Museum "featured on the TV show What's in the Barn" Chimney Rock State Park, The Great Smoky National Park, and Asheville NC "The Paris of the South" featuring The Biltmore Estate, The Love Hate Social Club owned by Ami James "featured on Miami Ink, NY Ink TV Show. Not to mention being known as Beer City's #1 Micro Brewery Location in the USA. (Do not drink and ride.)

SMOKY MOUNTAIN STEEL HORSES RENTAL POLICIES

REQUIREMENTS FOR MOTORCYCLE RENTAL

• Minimum 25 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license with a valid motorcycle class endorsement. Learner/Temporary Permits are not accepted. If you do not have a valid motorcycle endorsement at time of pick-up, it will be considered a cancellation with deposit forfeited.
• Minimum 18 years of age for passenger.
• Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover credit card for damage/security deposit and rental charges.

INCLUDED IN THE RENTAL RATE

• 24 hour rental rate.
• 300 miles per day. $0.30 per each additional mile.
• Receive and hold your gear if you chose to ship to our location.
• Cable & Lock.
• Helmet for driver and passenger.
• Store luggage and travel documents.

RESERVATION/CANCELLATION TERMS

• At the time of reservation, a 50% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit must be paid in full to guarantee rate and rental date(s).
• All rates are in U.S. Dollars.
• Cancellations must be received in writing.
• No refunds for no show, early returns, unused days, late pic-ups or inclement weather conditions.

INSURANCE

• Customers are required to purchase motorcycle insurance at time of pick-up.
• Personal Insurance Policies ARE NOT accepted.
• Cost is $15.00/day plus a one-time $3.00 Administrative Fee. This policy has a $1,000.00 deductible. This insurance does not remove your responsibility for liability, theft, etc.
• An optional supplemental liability insurance (SLI) is also available for $4.95/day to cover damage to other persons or other property.
• Towing is not covered.

RIDER ORIENTATION

• Every customer that rents a motorcycle, will be required to participate in a motorcycle orientation. We will cover all aspects of the motorcycle operation, your maintenance responsibilities as well as local and state laws.
• Customers must also demonstrate their ability to handle a heavyweight motorcycle by a parking lot road-test prior to the motorcycle being released.
• We reserve the right to refuse rental to any individual at our sole discretion.

FUEL

• Fuel costs are the renter’s responsibility. A full tank of High Octane gas will be provided upon customer’s departure.
• Motorcycle must be returned with a full tank of High Octane gas. A flat fee of $25 will be added to customer’s bill if returned less than full.
• Smoky Mountain Steel Horses makes no claims for motorcycle fuel consumption or mileage.

HELMETS

• North Carolina is a helmet state and helmets are provided for all motorcycle rentals. Our Rental Contract also states that a helmet is required and to be worn at all times during your rental.
• We encourage customers to use their own helmets whenever possible.

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS

• One additional driver may be added to your Rental Contract. There is a $40/day charge for an additional driver per day.
• All rental requirements, restrictions, endorsements, insurance, etc. apply to additional driver.

ONE WAY

• We DO NOT offer a one-way rental service.

MAINTENANCE RESPONSIBILITY

• The customer is responsible for checking engine oil levels at each refueling and reporting mechanical failures immediately to Smoky Mountain Steel Horses.
• Customer may be held responsible for mechanical damage due to negligence in motorcycle operation or failure to provide normal maintenance.

MOTORCYCLE SUBSTITUTION

• Motorcycles, like any machine are subject to periodic maintenance of both the scheduled and unscheduled variety. Smoky Mountain Steel Horses reserves the right to substitute the confirmed motorcycle.
• Should Smoky Mountain Steel Horses not be able to provide the confirmed motorcycle, a similar or better model will be provided.
• If one is not available, all deposits will be refunded.

SECURITY DEPOSIT

• A security/damage deposit of $2,500.00 dollars will be required at the time of pick-up (Authorization/Hold Only).
• Security deposit must be processed via a valid Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover credit card.
• If the motorcycle is returned damaged, regardless of how minor, the security deposit will not be refunded until all damage is repaired and full costs are known.

RESTRICTIONS

• Violation of policies and/or rental agreement terms and conditions void all purchased insurance coverage resulting in the customer assuming all/full responsibility for liability and /or damages.
• Smoky Mountain Steel Horses motorcycles are NOT allowed on dirt or gravel roads, “logging” or other non-public roads.
• A complete set of restrictions is provided in the rental agreement’s terms and conditions.

RETURN POLICY

• A rental day is 24 hours.
• A fee of $25/hr. will apply for motorcycles returned late. If the return is more than 3/hrs. late, a full day rental rate will be charged.
• All rental returns must be done during normal business hours.

EXTENDING RENTALS

• Customer’s requesting to extend their rental contract may do so provided the motorcycle is available.
• You must return to Smoky Mountain Steel Horses to complete a new rental agreement.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE RENTAL TO ANYONE AT ANYTIME.
